Y.D. MALHOTRA

Mr. Y.D. Malhotra earned Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of  Law degrees from Delhi University, India. He has working experience of over forty years . He has worked with American Embassy, New Delhi, India between 1963 and 1972.  He was employed with  the High Commission of Canada, New Delhi, India from 1972 to 2001. During his employment as  Designated Immigration Officer (Visa Officer), he was responsible for processing and finalizing applications besides working as a resource person to other officers. He acquired a wealth of knowledge about Canadian Immigration Act and Regulations by attending several meetings, seminars and training programs in India and Canada.

After his retirement from High Commission of Canada, New Delhi, Mr. Malhotra was employed as a Refugee Claims Officer with Immigration and Refugee Board, Vancouver and later as a Hearings/ Appeals Officer with Canada Immigration, Vancouver, BC, Canada (now Canada Border Services Agency).

Mr. Malhotra has successfully represented the cases of a number of clients from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Fiji, Iran, United States of America, Kosovo and Nepal . He has represented his clients for applications as Skilled Workers (Independent Category); Work Permits; Student Authorizations and Visitor Permits.

Mr. Malhotra is very knowledgeable about Family Laws ( Marriage, Divorce, Adoption etc.) of India and other countries and specializes in representing clients at hearings before Immigration Appeals Division and Refugee Protection Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board.

He has successfully represented many clients before Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).
